Rule 1)  if your candidate doesn't trust your mind, he/she doesn't trust his own.   Ask yourself this most important question:  When they seek your support, are they appealing to your mind to get elected, or your emotion?  Emotional appeals are manipulative, and quite underhanded.  You can't be surprised when those same candidates change the rules once elected, when their emotion changes, so does their ethics in every case.

Naturally we begin our days as infants. Babies who have very specific needs, who get those needs met through specific actions that are and become habits, then we grow and are ability to form concepts gets better and we see reality in a new light, this moves up to the next stage of development, and we have a new set of needs on top of the old ones that we have learned to manage. This continues as we grow.

My Fellow Statesmen, and fellow citizens, it is in my care to effectively lead this country out of the many conflicts and consequence that we are currently living with. Yes I said consequences, it is very easy to shrug off responsibility and blame others for our troubles, but that is about to stop. Right now. As you all know; one of the greatest things about our country is that we are rejuvenated with each new election, we are essentially a brand new country that can develop new goals, new focuses with each newly elected leader.
